Dr. Shen received his Ph.D. in statistics from Michigan State University in 2019. His research focusing on developing novel statistical methodologies in detecting associations between genetic variants and phenotypes. Recently, his research also focuses on the interpretation of methods in statistical learning, especially in deep neural networks and some asymptotic tests based on shallow neural networks have been established.

I enjoy math because it is interesting and it helps me to look at the world from different aspects. Before I get involved in the Lp spaces, I would never believe a ``diamond" or a ``square" can also be a ``circle".
